Manchester City and Argentina forward Julian Alvarez is wanted by Barcelona.
The Catalan giants are already planning for life after Robert Lewandowski, given he is in his mid-30s.
Coach Xavi Hernandez is said to be a huge admirer of Alvarez, per Sport in Spain.
Alvarez is not a regular starter for City, as he comes in and out of the team, but he has managed six goals and five assists in 13 matches.
The attacker is equally comfortable in central positions or on the wings, while he can also play next to striker Erling Haaland.
Barca are also securing Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque, but they are concerned that Robert Lewandowski may leave for Saudi Arabia in January or next summer.
