Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter could have been in line for a return to management.
The ex-Blues and Brighton coach has not been working since he was sacked by the Stamford Bridge club last season.
Per the Daily Record, Potter was offered the job of replacing Michael Beale at Rangers.
However, he does not appear to have any interest in the post, as he may be targeting a Premier League return.
Rangers are also assessing Frank Lampard, ex-Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder, and former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch.
Ex-Rangers fullback Kevin Muscat is another serious option for Rangers, according to talkSPORT.
