Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has rejected claims around the Barcelona Negreira Case.
A local judge has charged Barca with bribery over the investigation, but Guardiola insists Barca are innocent before being proven guilty.
Guardiola said: “It’s like what happened to us here (in England) when everyone accused us: let’s let the trial take its course.”
The former Blaugrana coach continued: “I haven’t seen or read much, but from what I understand it seems that Barcelona paid the referees to benefit from them. I haven’t seen it: for this reason I prefer to wait to give an opinion.
“Barcelona will now be able to defend themselves and will do so. What I am sure of is that Barça won and, when they succeeded, it was because they did better than their rivals. I am sure of this, because I was there: when we won we were we were the best, when we weren’t we lost.”
