Real Mallorca coach Javier Aguirre was left delighted with their 2-2 draw against Barcelona.
After their 5-3 defeat to Girona on Saturday, Aguirre was pleased with how his players responded last night.
He said, “We are happy after having been beaten in Girona, we needed to recover our identity and I am satisfied with the team’s work, we were somewhat fortunate in the few times we played forward.
“We knew how to challenge a team that has many records in defence, in attack with great individualities, I repeat that this tie and the team’s play gives us back our identity.
“It also takes away all the rubbish from Girona‘s day in our minds, we played a decent match and the people left happy, we now have to continue in this line in Vallecas against Rayo.
“I saw the problems that Barcelona had against Getafe and Celta and I tried to find some parallels.”
