Fermin Lopez admitted mixed emotions after scoring his first goal for Barcelona in their 2-2 draw with Mallorca.
Lopez came off the bench to score Barca’s equaliser.
He said, “I’m happy to have scored my first goal with this shirt, with the club I dreamed of as a child, but it’s the least important thing.
“We’re going home hurt by the dropped points, but we’re going to correct our mistakes and go on to play Sevilla.
“Raphinha put the ball in the box and [Robert] Lewandowski dummied it to let it come through.
“I try to do what the coach asks me to do and help the team as much as possible. I’m very grateful to Xavi for the confidence and the opportunities.
“It’s hard to imagine a year ago that I’d be where I am now. It was a year of learning and it has helped me to fulfill my dream. Now my goal is to continue helping the team.”
He added, “Xavi asked Lamine Yamal and me to play our hearts out, to have personality. The team tried until the end. We leave with that, but we have to be self-critical.”
