Orio Romeu is delighted with his first weeks back at Barcelona.
The former Girona midfielder made the move last month and is set to make his Champions League debut tonight against Royal Antwerp.
Romeu said: “It’s been a long time since I left, 12 years. It’s been a long time and it rained a lot. When you go to Southampton, it’s difficult to imagine returning to Barça as a protagonist. I’m happy and I want to start this competition well, which is the best thing there can be for a player.
“I manage it in the most natural way possible. I do what I do well, I try to adapt quickly. I feel good, but I know that I can improve and grow.”
On his relationship with teammate Frenkie de Jong, Romeu added: “The relationship is very good, an excellent boy. On the pitch he is a luxury: he gives you the ball in the best conditions, he is one of the best midfielders in Europe. He leads the team.”
