Joao Felix is at the centre of Barcelona coach Xavi’s decision to rethink new contract talks.
Felix joined Barca last week on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid.
Xavi has agreed to sign a new deal to 2025 – but had originally been willing to extend his stay to 2026.
Okdiario’s chief pundit Eduardo Inda, speaking on El Chiringuito, stated: “I counted last week that Xavi met with Joao Félix and he told him that he did not count on him, that he was not his signing, but that if he was at a high level he would not be discriminated against.
“Now they tell me that there was a very serious confrontation between Xavi and (president Joan) Laporta for the signing of Portuguese. Xavi was going to renew until 2026, but he stayed until 2025 because of that mosquito of signing a player that he did not want. T
“That is why there has been an anger from the coach.”
