REVEALED: Why Bernardo insisted on buyout clause in new Man City contract

Bernardo Silva‘s new contract with Manchester City carries an affordable buyout clause.

The Portugal midfielder penned a new deal to 2026 last month.

The decision was made after seeing a move to Barcelona fall through due to the club’s Financial Fair Play issues.

Mundo Deportivo says a deal could finally go through next summer, however, after Silva insisted on a £50m release clause in his new contract.

And there is hope at Bernardo’s end that he an eventually land a move to the Nou Camp next year.
