Inigo Martinez is impressed by the make-up of the Barcelona squad.
The former Athletic Bilbao defender arrived last summer in a Bosman transfer.
Martinez told Sport: “I’m in favour… it’s not usually a bad thing to have veterans in the team because they probably have more match and game experience. The important thing is that everything combines well and that it comes together on the pitch. I think we have a great squad.
“There are a lot of young players who still need to keep competing, to keep getting minutes to keep learning. And the same goes for us. It’s not because you’re older that you know more than them. We all come here to learn.
“I come to compete, to give one hundred per cent. The good thing about me is that I’m very competitive. Today we did a gymkhana and I lost. I come to the interview angry (laughs), but I repeat, I come to give what I have, to be competitive and that can be good for the team.”
