Barcelona superkid Lamine Yamal was delighted with his chance in the Joan Gamper Trophy last night.
Yamal, 16, starred as Barca defeated Tottenham 4-2.
He later said: “Before going on, the coach told me ‘go out with self-confidence’ and I have taken the ball and I have not stopped facing.
“I am very excited, I am with the idols that I had when I was little. For now, I am playing minutes and enjoying the opportunities that the coach gives me.”
Yamal added: “I want to stay.”
The teen has agreed a new deal, but nothing can be signed until Barca settle their financial fair play issues. His current contract runs to June 2024.
