Ilkay Gundogan is proud to make the move to Barcelona.
The former Manchester City midfielder will be presented to the local media on Monday.
Gundogan said: “It is a dream come true. I remember myself being a kid and watching Pep’s Barça, Rijkaard’s Barça. I’ve been following the club ever since and I’ve been following it all these years.
“I’ve been here several times as a spectator, so now I’m very proud and very happy to be at this club.
“There is a lot of potential in the team, a very young squad, and I hope with my experience to help the youngsters and take them to the next level.
“The base is there, the potential is there too, we just have to show it next season and that’s why I came here. I’m very motivated.”
As for what he will bring to Barca, Gundogan said: “A lot of experience, but obviously also quality in midfield. It depends where I play, what role I have, more defensive or offensive. I guess I’ll be able to keep the ball and pass it, which is very important if you’re at Barça.
“Furthermore, he will not hesitate to “put myself at the team’s disposal to help as much as possible. In the end we are individuals, but the most important thing is the success of the team.”
