Barcelona president Joan Laporta says they’ll soon settle a new contract with Xavi.
Xavi has just led Barca to the LaLiga title.
Laporta said: “Xavi has a contract and knows that he is the best coach for Barça. He is a great person and knows the club, he helps a lot at work. At the moment we will talk. First there are some priorities and Xavi understands it. We will talk calml , but we want him to continue and he too.
“I am convinced that he will go further. We have not set a date. We have talked about the subject above.
“He has won the League and the Super Cup with authority. There are people who think that praising Xavi is missing club legends. Sometimes we have talked (about the bad vibes of Xavi and Pep). I don’t think there is.
“There are Pep followers who think that by praising Xavi they detract from Pep. This conflict does not exist. The other day Xavi was eating at my house. These things are not good for Barcelona fans.”
