Barcelona coach Xavi is happy Sergi Busquets and Jordi Alba will leave as LaLiga title winners.
The pair will depart this summer and played their final home game in victory against Real Mallorca.
Xavi said, “It’s a feeling of happiness on the one hand for all the goals achieved, for the pace of play and the victory, and on the other for two such emotional farewells from two legends who deserved it. They are the best I have seen in their positions and we will miss them. They have been exemplary, their involvement has been spectacular.
“I have told them that they are lucky because not everyone can say goodbye to the Camp Nou like that. I lived it too, even more so because I left with a Treble. That people recognize your work is priceless.
“(Lionel) Messi also deserves a farewell like that, I think that’s what we’re all about.
“Okay, let’s see. We all love Messi, but that doesn’t mean he’ll come or not. He is the best in history and at Barça, it depends a lot on what he wants to do.”
On Sergi Busquets as new captain, Xavi added: “Sergi Roberto is a tenth captain, exemplary, he talks much more than people think, he is an undervalued footballer and he will be a great captain.”
