Arsenal threaten Villa (& Alemany) plans for Barcelona attacker Torres

Arsenal are jumping into the battle for Barcelona attacker Ferran Torres.

The Gunners are targeting Torres, knowing Barca are prepared to sell the Spain international this summer to ease Financial Fair Play concerns.

Aston Villa are regarded as favourites to land Torres with Barca sporting director Mateu Alemany agreeing to move to Villa Park this summer.

However, talkSPORT says Arsenal are now jumping into the battle for the former Manchester City attacker.

It’s suggested Arsenal‘s City connection, with manager Mikel Arteta having worked with Torres at the Etihad, will be key in the battle.

Barca will seeking around £40m to sell Torres.
