Barcelona midfielder Pedri was delighted after victory over Atletico Madrid.
Pedri came off the bench to feature for the first time since breaking down earlier this year in the Europa League playoff against Manchester United.
The midfielder said, “I really wanted to be on the pitch, because it’s where I enjoy myself the most and I’m very happy with the victory. From the outside, it’s worse, because you can only pray that the goals go in and you get the points.
“We are all important and I wasn’t the only one missing. (Frenkie) de Jong, who is an extraordinary player, was also missing and it’s very noticeable when he’s not here. We hope to get Dembélé and Christensen back too.”
Speaking about the game, Pedri said: “The whole team took it as a final, because of the size of the opposition and because we’re playing at home, where we have to chew up our opponents. It was a game that decided a lot against an Atlético who were on a great run and who have a stellar Griezmann in their ranks– so we got three very important points in our objective of winning the title.”
Being now closer to winning the title, Pedri added: “There is always excitement about winning the league and the sooner we can certify it, the better. But we are in no hurry, when it has to come, it will come.”
