Josep Maria Minguella has dismissed the hype around Barcelona superkid Gavi.
The former agent, who helped bring both Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi to Barca, isn’t convinced by the young midfielder.
Speaking to Betevé’s ‘La Portería’ programme, Minguella stated: “What does Gavi bring to Barça’s construction game?”
“Gavi is not a player for Barça.”
Despite his youth, at 18, Gavi is a first-choice for Barça and the Spanish national team. He has participated in 27 league games this season, with one goal scored (against Sevilla) and three assists.
He has also played five games in the Copa del Rey, one in the Europa League (he was absent at Old Trafford), two in the Spanish Super Cup (he scored in the final) and five in the Champions League.
