Barcelona are ready to approach Saudi Arabia about playing regularly against their Saudi Pro League teams.
Barca president Joan Laporta has floated the idea should they be banned by UEFA from the Champions League next season as part of the Negreira case.
That’s according to Ok Diario’s chief pundit Eduardo Inda when speaking on El Chiringuito.
“I continue to maintain that Barcelona will be sanctioned,” Inda began. “It is what the law says, which speaks of a year of expulsion. The big question is whether it will arrive in time for the next season or for the next one.
“Laporta has commented to those closest to him, who do not know if he is ironic or serious, that if Barça is out of the Champions League, the financial loss will be tens of millions of euros.
“He has told his people about the possibility of filling that European matchday in Saudi Arabia.
“I say what he has commented. Compete or organise friendly matches during the Champions League. They would play in friendly match formats or pseudo competitions to fill the budget that would leave the non-competing in the Champions League.”
