Barcelona president Joan Laporta says they’ll fight for their reputation amid accusations coming from the Negreira case.
Laporta insists the club has done nothing wrong.
“They have nothing on us,” Laporta said when speaking at an event for Barcelona fan clubs.
“All they’re trying to do is to damage our image and reputation with a denigrating campaign.
“It’s very ugly what they are doing. The tactic never changes and it involves trying to squeeze us until we give in, but we won’t give in as we’re going to defend Barcelona to the last drop of our blood.”
“You can’t buy, sell or tarnish the Barcelona feeling.”
He went on to insist that the club have always acted fairly and that the claims of irregularities are false.
“We have seen some very serious attacks on our badge that have nothing to do with reality,” the president added.
“We have always won in a sporting way on the pitch thanks to the talent and commitment of the players.
“In our 123 years of history, we have demonstrated our values, commitment, responsibility, honesty and sportsmanship.
“At no time have we done what they want people to believe we have done.
“Barcelona will always belong to you, the fans.”
