Barcelona coach Xavi: I don’t care what Fati’s father says

Barcelona coach Xavi has shrugged off a blast from the father of Ansu Fati.

Bori Fati hit out at Xavi this week over a lack of playing opportunities this season for Ansu.

Xavi said today: “He is calm and focused. I only care about him, neither his father nor his surroundings. I have also experienced similar situations, he is suffering for his son and I understand him.

“He’s a great person and he knows what I’m saying. I watch him train and he looks great.

“I have confidence and total faith in Ansu. I have spoken a lot with him and I have met many times as with many other footballers. I am the first one that I want him to succeed.”

Xavi also commented on vice-president Rafa Yuste’s comments about a potential return of Leo Messi from PSG.

“This is not the time to talk about Leo’s return. From here there is a world of things that must be done, but I will be the first to do everything possible to make him come back.”
