Barcelona coach Xavi denies they have the LaLiga title wrapped up after victory over Real Madrid.
Barca were a goal down before they fought back to win 2-1 via goals from Sergi Roberto and Franck Kessie.
Xavi said: “No, it’s not final. We are neither more nor less champions tonight; There’s still a lot to play for. But we are very satisfied. It is time to assess what these players are doing. The Liga form is extraordinary. We have been highly criticized at many times and today I was very proud. A lot. I repeat: it is time to assess what these players are doing.
“Sergi Roberto is one of the most underrated. At this club we don’t value things and I don’t know what else to say about Sergi. He is an example as a player and he was an example as a teammate. He has worked, stolen, arrived in the area … he always complies and for me, he is a guarantee.
“This is one of the best days. But there have been worse, like Bayern’s 0-3. Today has been goosebumps. From the beginning to Kessié’s goal, who is a worker and deserves it. Enjoy it and let the people enjoy it.”
On Real Madrid‘s complaints about Marco Asensio‘s disallowed goal, Xavi also said: “From offside? Its clear. It is a scientific issue. These statements by (Carlo) Ancelotti surprise me, really.
“An offside is or not; there are no debates. I have lived the moment with enormous satisfaction, of course. Just like in the Cup semifinals I said no, today I do believe that we have been superior to Madrid. The team has emptied itself and that fills me with pride.”
