Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti says they’re taking the Copa del Rey seriously.
Real Madrid meet Barcelona in the first-leg of the semifinal tomorrow night.
Ancelotti said, “You have to prepare it with confidence. You have to make a complete game. We are excited to play this game because they are the most beautiful. We are close to playing a final.
“It is a competition that at the beginning is not the most important, but when you get to the semis it is. The first phases of this tournament do not always see the best team, because there is a League, Champions … The Cup becomes important not at the beginning, but at the end, of course it does.
“Until now, compared to last year, we have two points less in the League, but we did not reach the semifinals of the Cup and we lost the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. We are where we deserve and now comes the good part, the important moment of the season.
“Getting to March like this means we can compete. I think we can still win something more, but I’m not a magician.”
