Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag referenced Real Madrid‘s crushing victory over Liverpool to remind pundits about his side’s quality this week.
The Red Devils coach was referencing his team beating Barcelona in the Europa League on Thursday.
Ten Hag stated that despite it being a Europa League tie, Barca were top of the league in Spain, ahead of Real Madrid.
“Barcelona are the leader of La Liga – eight points ahead of Real Madrid,” he said on BT Sport after his side went through 4-3 on aggregate.
“We have seen what Real Madrid did this week. I think it’s a big win, yes, that we beat them (Barcelona).”
He then added: ” We’ve had some good wins – Liverpool and Arsenal at home – really good wins, but I think this [is the best] over two legs, one tie.”
