Anthony: Bournemouth players right behind Neto captaincy

Bournemouth star Jadon Anthony admits everyone in the dressing room was behind Gary O’Neil‘s decision to make Neto their captain.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper was a surprise choice from the outside to take over the role of skipper.

However, he is well respected at the club and has earned his right to wear the armband.

Asked about the matter, per the Daily Echo, Anthony stated: “That’s a decision that the manager has taken and we are all behind the decision.

“Obviously we have to get on a little bit at the end of the day.

“Lloyd’s been an excellent captain for us for the past year and a half, and I think Neto is a big voice and a big character in the dressing room and I think he can hopefully help us and lead us to some success.”

He then added: “To be honest, I don’t really have an opinion on that in terms of what was needed.

“It’s a leader, another leader.

“He won’t be the only voice on the pitch and we’ve all got to chip in and do our part to try and stay up.”
