Cristiano Ronaldo is off the mark for Al Nassr.
The former Manchester United striker scored in Friday’s 2-2 draw at Al-Fateh.
The Portuguese forward stepped up to convert a late penalty for the visitors, having hit the crossbar and scored an offside effort earlier in the match.
Anderson Talisca continued his impressive form for Al-Nassr after scoring in the first-half – before later getting sent off – as Cristian Tello, formerly of Barcelona, and Sofiane Bendebka notched for the home side.
It was the first time that Ronaldo has found the back of the net in Saudi Arabia since scoring two against PSG in a friendly for an All-Star XI.
Before his penalty, Ronaldo found his name inside the referee’s book following a scuffle with one of the Al-Fateh defenders inside the penalty box.
The defender had gone down clutching his head, which Ronaldo responded to by picking up his opponent and dragging him to his feet – resulting in a booking.
Al Nassr are now top the standings after 15 games, level on 34 points with second-placed Al Shabab but with a match in hand. They next travel to Al Wedha on Thursday.
