Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has reached out to his Netherlands teammate Wout Weghorst after he signed for Manchester United.
De Jong was himself linked to the Old Trafford club throughout the summer transfer window.
However, he is now excelling at Barca, as the Catalan giants are top of La Liga and recently won the Spanish Super Cup.
In a social media post, Weghorst said after signing for United: “Can’t wait to get started in ‘The Theatre of my Dreams’. I will give my all for this incredible club @manchesterunited. Let’s go Reds”.
De Jong commented with a starry-eyed face and a two-handed emoji to praise the forward for securing the loan move.
Weghorst is on loan from Burnley until the end of the season.
