Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde says they lacked the necessary team spirit to defeat Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana final.
Barca were comfortable winners in Riyadh.
Valverde later admitted had little complaints about the result, accepting Barca were the better team.
He said: “We didn’t have that spirit.
“In order to be crowned champions you have to go out and give 100 per cent. We didn’t do that today. We gave 90 or 80 per cent in a game like this against an opponent like that and that’s something we can’t do. We all have to stand up and move forward”.
