Barcelona coach Xavi hopes to play goalkeeper Inaki Pena against Copa del Rey opponents InterCity tonight.
Players aged 23 or over with registration to the B team cannot play for the first team in the Copa del Rey.
“The situation with Iñaki Peña is that we have presented the documents on Jan. 2, the first valid day to make the change to his registration from the B team to the first team,” Xavi said.
“Now we are waiting for the resolution from the RFEF, but it is not that the RFEF has warned us about this issue, but rather that we have done everything possible so that he can play the game.”
