Barcelona president Joan Laporta has been fined for entering the referees’ room on Sunday – to the tune of €150.
Laporta entered the refs room at the end of defeat at Real Madrid demanding talks with match officials. But he was immediately told to leave before the incident was included in José María Sánchez Martínez’s referee’s report.
The Competition Committee has applied article 133 of the Disciplinary Code to sanction Laporta and issue with a small fine.
Martinez’s original report read: “Other incidents: Once the match was over and the referee team found us inside the locker room, the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta Estruch, accessed it repeatedly requesting explanations about some situations in the match. Given these events, he was invited to leave the arbitration locker room, without further incident.”
