Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza is surprised seeing veteran pair Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba on Barcelona‘s bench.
Mingueza left Barca last summer for Celta.
He said: “It’s a bit strange, because after so many years and seeing that last year, which was not our best season, they were the ones who stood up for the team and always played well.
“But it’s not my decision and I can’t influence it, so I leave that for the coach.”
Mingueza faces his former teammates this weekend and he continued: “We’re all very confident, we also just came from beating Betis and we’re really looking forward to going to the Camp Nou. On top of that, Iago didn’t play the other day and I’m sure he arrives eager to score. He’s also up against Barça, who have always done quite well and the team is motivated, wanting to win.”
