Barcelona finance chief Eduard Romeu has again opened the door to re-sign Lionel Messi from PSG.
At his latest financial presentation, the vice president once again made it clear that the Argentine star “will always have the club’s doors open”.
He also pointed out that it will be the sports management, headed by Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff, who will have to make the decision.
“When I played football, I always passed the ball away. That’s what I’m going to do. It’s not a matter for me, but the sporting management. If the coaches consider it appropriate, we will get to work to achieve the objective. Having said that, the president has already said that Leo is an asset to Barça and he will always have the club’s doors open to him,” said Romeu.
“You know that we know how to work miracles”, he added jokingly.
It is worth remembering that, last week, the vice-president acknowledged that, “although I have not accounted for it in the budget”, Messi’s return “would be viable financially.
“He is an icon of the club, this will always be his home, but it will be a technical decision.”
