Holland coach Louis van Gaal admits speaking to players about transfers.
It was claimed over the summer that Van Gaal talked Jurrien Timber out of a move to Manchester United – which the Ajax defender has since denied.
However, LVG told Voetbal International: “I would like to clarify one thing: I called players, it’s true, but I always ended the call with: This is advice, but you have to make the choice yourself.”
On Barcelona‘s two Dutch players, he also said: “I would have been happier if Memphis (Depay) and Frenkie (de Jong) would play more regularly.
“But Frenkie has already got ninety minutes a couple of times, which is nice.”
