Ousmane Dembele and Memphis Depay scored as Barcelona won 2-0 against New York Red Bulls.
Robert Lewandowski failed to score in any of FC Barcelona‘s preseason games in the United States, missing over a handful of shots at goal in a win over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday at Red Bull Arena.
All Barcelona players were actively seeking Lewandowski to give the striker an opportunity to score his first goal with the Catalan club.
Many of his shots went over the crossbar and others were saved by the Red Bulls goalkeeper.
Dembele opened the score in minute 40 with an excellent finish following a play that he started.
The Red Bulls put up a great effort in the first half before every player got subbed out to start the final 45 minutes.
Gerard Pique, Sergi Roberto and Pedri were among the subs to come on the field for Barcelona in the second half.
Lewandowski kept on looking for his goal but came up short time and time again.
He was subbed off and replaced by Memphis Depay in minute 73.
Depay needed just a couple of shots at goal to do what Lewandowski couldn’t.
Depay’s goal came in minute 87 after he took advantage of a communication error by the goalie and defender.
