Barcelona coach Xavi has made contact with Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
With just over a year to run on his Napoli deal, Koulibaly has emerged as a target for Barca, where Xavi is a fan.
Calcio Napoli 24 says Xavi has spoken to the Senegal international about his plans for the team and the club’s ambitions.
The meeting took place during the ‘play-off’ of the Europa League between Barça and Napoli, in which the Blaugrana advanced to the round of 16 after eliminating the Italians 5-3 on aggregate.
It’s been a common practice of Xavi, who has already contacted several players wanted by Barça to explain the sports project first hand.
