Former Barcelona defender Lilian Thuram says Ousmane Dembele must find a way to stay at the Nou Camp.
The France attacker is off contract in June, though both parties are willing to explore the prospect of renewing his deal.
Thuram said, “I think he will be important until the end of the season, he’s a great player.
“When you play for Barça you have to understand that it’s a great club, playing for a great team is always an important thing.
“In the end he will value all this, but a great player must play in a great team and Barça is a great team.”
Thuram also commented on Leo Messi’s problems at PSG.
He continued: “For Messi, Barcelona is his home. He played here since he was little and has played for Barça for a long time. It’s very difficult when you want to stay but you have to leave. When you change teams it’s also difficult. When Messi played for Barça all the people were with him, in Paris it’s different. When you see that PSG lost against Madrid and in the next game the people whistle for him… it’s incredible. This shouldn’t happen, they shouldn’t disrespect Messi. They can’t do this.”
