Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong insists criticism this season hasn’t affected him.
De Jong has found form for Barcelona in the last month.
“I don’t know if I am at my best,” he said in a press conference on Wednesday. “I can always improve. It doesn’t hurt a lot when people criticise [me].
“A lot of people aren’t watching the games, that’s why people speak. If a journalist, for example, says Frenkie de Jong has not been good, people will think that. They’re not watching the games. That’s the problem.”
De Jong also reiterated his desire to stay at Camp Nou despite some reports he could be sold in the summer due to his high market value.
He added: “I feel good at Barcelona. We’re in good form and I feel comfortable. I want to stay [at Barca] and above all improve. I still think I can give more. I am working hard and speaking with the coaches to improve.”
