Sevilla winger Papu Gomez has scoffed at critics of Lionel Messi at PSG.
Messi has been criticised over his form since making the move to Paris from Barcelona in August.
Gomez said of his Argentina teammate: “They are going a bit overboard with Messi. He had injuries after the Copa América and he had a really bad time with covid. What happens to him, it happened to me, with the difference that he had been in Barcelona for 20 years.
“It comes to language, a different climate, because in Barcelona it can be 15 degrees and in Paris, zero. You also need the kids to get used to it… These are changes that lead you to have to adapt. And Leo was the owner of Barcelona, the one who managed the team. Leo is still the best on the planet and there’s nothing to doubt him.
“It’s a matter of time and we all want to see the best version of him in Paris, because in the Argentine team he continues to demonstrate it.”
