Pundit and former goalkeeper Jorge D’Alessandro was being lined up for a role with Barcelona – before criticising the club.
Mundo Deportivo says Barca president Joan Laporta considered the option of adding D’Alessandro to his staff. The Argentine, a man with extensive football knowledge, currently collaborates with El Chiringuito.
But D’Alessandro’s reaction to the departure of Lionel Messi for PSG saw the move fall through.
D’Alessandro was very critical of Barça for not extending Messi’s contract – a stand that led to Laporta’s change of plans.
