Barcelona coach Xavi: I’ve been unfair to Alves; Aubameyang will face Napoli

Barcelona coach Xavi admits he’s been unfair to Daniel Alves.

The fullback has been left out of the Europa League squad due to UEFA restrictions – much to the veteran’s frustration.

Ahead of tonight’s Europa League clash with Napoli, Xavi said: “I already said that I had been unfair to Dani and decided more for position than for performance.”

On Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the coach also stated: “He is training very well, he needed stronger sessions. He is already one hundred percent and we will see him play for sure.

“He is a player capable of playing space, going down to receive and unload. Very happy with him, very professional and very positive.”

On Luuk de Jong, he also said: “Luuk trains, he is wonderful. He is helping us and will help us. He is capable of reaching the area and finishing off well, unloading balls close to the area.”
