Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele is willing to meet face-to-face with president Joan Laporta about his contract stand-off.
Barca want him to renew or leave in the winter window, while the player wants neither. It’s a complex situation that doesn’t benefit anyone.
It seems necessary to lower the tension and find a way towards mutual understanding.
Despite the posture of the player’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, who arrived in Barcelona on Tuesday, some in Dembele’s camp explain that he would like a face to face meeting with the president, Laporta, says Sport.
Dembele, who has a good relationship with Samuel Umtiti, knows that the meeting the defender had with the chief last summer helped to improve a relationship that had been tense between club and player.
Dembele does not want to keep salting the wound and hopes the chat with Laporta can also unblock negotiations with Mateu Alemany, the director of football.
