Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez says they want to win the Maradona Cup today against Boca Juniors.
Xavi has taken a full squad with him to Riyadh.
“For us it’s an honour to be here representing Barcelona and in homage of one of the best players in history, it makes us all emotional,” said Xavi. “It’s a pleasure to be here, a privilege, because whenever I came with Al-Sadd they treated me very well.”
The coach added that “we will try to be at our best, it will be a test for the players that don’t usually play, a way of seeing players that haven’t had many games. We want to be at our best.”
He also said Boca “will be very demanding of us, because we come from playing two days ago, but we’ll try to mange minutes in the best way possible. We’ll also try players in different positions, we’ll see things, but most important will be managing the fitness.”
