The 24-year-old is out of contract at Camp Nou next summer and has been linked to Liverpool in recent days.
Klopp is ‘in love’ with the Barcelona winger and considers him to be a suitable addition to the group.
The report adds that the Reds’ boss has ‘requested’ the signing of Dembele, who Barcelona signed from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
Klopp had tried to sign Dembele ahead of BVB when he was with Rennes and has long maintained contact with the player’s minders.
