9′ Decent chance! Mane does well down the left wing and beats Ward, then finds Tsimikas, who sends it into the feet of Jota in the box and he fires a shot towards goal from a tight angle. However, he sends it way off target.
7′ This is better from Liverpool, they are keeping the ball in midfield, but are yet to really get it into the final third and test the Palace defence.
5′ That’s two chances within the space of a minute for Palace, they’ve made a really bright start to the game and Liverpool need to pick up their game.
3′ OFF THE POST! Palace go close again! A deep cross comes into the box and Benteke powers a header a header towards the bottom left corner of the net. However, it strikes the post and then hits a Palace man and bounces wide. It wouldn’t have counted anyway as the flag goes up for offside.
2′ CHANCE! Palace almost take the lead! Liverpool fail to deal with a free-kick and don’t clear their lines, so Gallagher chips it back into the box, which Zaha sprints onto the end of and just gets to the ball ahead of Alisson, flicking it towards an empty net. However, he doesn’t get enough pace on it and Alisson manages to tip it onto the post, before it bounces away.
1′ We’re under way!
