Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola blocked a move for Barcelona whizkid Ansu Fati last summer.
The teenager’s agent Jorge Mendes has been pushing for an improved deal from Barca amid senior teammates taking major wage reductions.
El Nacional says Mendes offered Fati to City, but Guardiola quickly knocked the prospect back.
The City manager was unimpressed by Mendes’ tactics and had no interest in hurting his relationship with Barca president Joan Laporta and his board.
Fati was awarded Lionel Messi‘s former No10 shirt at Barca last week.
