Barcelona management are concerned Chelsea are in contact with agents for Ilaix Moriba.
Sport says with Barca struggling to reach new terms with Ilaix, there’s a big gap financially between the two parties and the club are now sticking to their position in the hope that the midfielder will decide to stay, as was his desire a few weeks ago.
The main problem is financial and the club are certain the player has a big offer either for now or in a year and believe it could be from Chelsea, who wanted to sign him before he signed his professional contract with Barça.
The Blaugrana will still fight to keep him, with his contract up in 2022, and there could be a final decision this week.
Ilaix, 18, and his camp have rejected one offer from Barça as they deemed it too low. They want at least three million euros net per year and the club are sticking to two million with the chance to progressively earn more.
They believe it’s a good offer in the current market at his age after just a few appearances in La Liga. Barça will go all-in on Ilaix and hand him a first-team squad number this season.
