Barcelona president Joan Laporta is ready to go with Ronald Koeman for next season.
Having declared openly they were considering replacements for the Dutch coach, Laporta is now relenting and is ready to declare his commitment to Koeman for the new campaign.
SER Catalunya says a decision has already been made and Barca plan to make a formal announcement potentially as early as Friday. Koeman will be informed that he will be allowed to fulfil the final year of his two-year contract.
However, Laporta will demand Koeman employ a 4-3-3 system, as a non-negotiable, and wants the football to be more attacking than this past season despite the fact that Barça was the top scorer in all of Spanish football last term.
Koeman’s conversations with Laporta and Rafa Yuste have been ongoing in recent days. This Tuesday, in addition, the Dutchman also met with sporting director Mateu Alemany to further discuss squad planning.
