Ronald Araujo is ready to agree new terms with Barcelona.
With his contract ending in 2022, negotiations are underway to secure the defender to a renewal agreement.
“I’m very happy to be at Barcelona, I hope to be here for many years and give my best in each season,” Araujo explained.
“I have one more season left on my contract. I don’t know much about the renewal, my representative takes care of that. I’m calm, but I hope to be able to continue at the club.”
Ronald Koeman gave Araujo a lot of chances this term and it has culminated in him being selected to represent Uruguay in the Copa America. As a result, he has spoken glowingly about his relationship with the Dutch coach.
“With me there has always been a good coach-footballer relationship,” he said.
“Koeman has made me play a lot and I was then able to show that I deserved to play.”
