Barcelona have opened talks with Al Sadd coach Xavi.
Xavi is negotiating with Barcelona to be coach next season, according to a report in Diario ARA. They say the conversations are taking place with discretion to respect Ronald Koeman, but the dressing room has become aware.
The negotiation has two main paths. On one hand, Xavi with Barca president Joan Laporta. The Al-Sadd coach and Barca’s chief must meet and it is said to be scheduled in for the coming days, when he will set out his methodology and ideas for parts of the club, as well as agreeing on his contract.
Meanwhile Mateu Alemany will have spoken already to Xavi, per the report, about planning for next season, including Lionel Messi‘s future.
The squad know about the Xavi interest and are waiting to hear more.
