PSG table pre-contract offer to Barcelona star Lionel Messi

PSG have tabled a pre-contract offer to Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

The French club are desperate to lure the Argentine away from the Camp Nou at the end of his contract on June 30, and they are willing to flex their considerable financial muscle to make it happen.

TNT Sports Brazil reports PSG have put a two-year offer on the table for Messi. The Ligue 1 side believe that the sum put forward is unmatchable by most other clubs, the Catalans included.

PSG are also of the belief that their ambitions are aligned with Messi’s desire to win the Champions League again, backed up by their appearance in last season’s final and their impressive run to the semi-finals – so far – this term.

Their interest in Messi is nothing new, but the No.10 is yet to give Barcelona an answer on his future, and his contract ends in just two months. There is a belief, though, that Barcelona‘s Copa del Rey triumph and chances of winning LaLiga Santander could fall in the Catalans’ favour and be enough to convince him to stay.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is desperate to keep hold of the six-time Ballon d’Or winner and is currently working out an offer to take to Jorge Messi, the player’s agent and father.
