LIVE: Manchester City vs Tottenham

8′ STERLING! City are causing Spurs all sorts of problems here as Mahrez comes forward again down the right. He lifts a good cross into the middle for Sterling and he flicks the header on. He can’t keep it down though and it’s just over the bar.

7′ GREAT CHANCE! It’s brilliant play from Sterling on the left as he wrongfoots Aurier, keeping the ball in play, and pulls it back for Foden at the near post. He takes the shot first time but fires it just wide of the target.

6′ Spurs just can’t get out of their own half at the moment as Winks sells Hojbjerg short and Gundogan intercepts it. He touches it out to Cancelo on the left, but his early cross is headed out by Alderweireld.

4′ It’s a poor backpass from Son that plays Sterling into space through the middle and he’s running on goal. Aurier gets back quickly to win it back but the City fans are asking for a penalty after he goes to ground, but there wasn’t much in it.

2′ City are seeing a lot of the ball in the opening minutes here as Mahrez cuts inside from the right and Spurs are giving him a lot of space. He plays it out to De Bruyne on the left, but his floated cross is over Sterling and straight out of play.

1′ Manchester City get the EFL Cup final underway!

The teams are out on the pitch, with kick-off just moments away.

Ryan Mason makes just two changes after the game in midweek and the big news is that Kane has been passed fit to start after an ankle injury, with Winks also coming in. Bale and Ndombele both drop to the bench.

Pep Guardiola makes six changes from their win over Aston Villa on Wednesday as he brings in Steffen, Cancelo, Laporte, Fernandinho, Sterling and De Bruyne, who returns from injury. Ederson, Zinchenko, Silva, Rodri and Jesus start on the bench, while John Stones misses out through suspension after being sent off in that game.

City were knocked out of the FA Cup last weekend to end hopes of a quadruple, but they’re looking to retain the EFL Cup for the fourth consecutive season today after beating rivals Manchester United 2-0 in the semi-final to get here. As for Spurs, they’re looking to win their first trophy since 2008, after seeing off Brentford 2-0 in their semi-final. It’s only Ryan Mason’s second game in charge – he made a winning start, beating Southampton 2-1 on Wednesday, which ended a run of three matches without a win for Spurs.
