Barcelona are continuing talks with Manchester City defender Eric Garcia.
The Spain international, off contract in June, has been in negotiations with Barca about a return to his formative club. Garcia had agreed terms with Barca’s former management team, but new president Joan Laporta wants to revise the offer down.
The proposal was lowered to half of what was agreed with former president Josep Maria Bartomeu. That did not sit well with the player, who argued that he had rejected other offers to return to the Catalans and that the club should keep its word, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Barca have now explained to Garcia and his agent Ivan de le Pena why the contract offer had to be reduced.
And the latest is Garcia accepts the situation and is coming around to accepting the new proposal.
